Cost and Treatment Duration
I charge $138 (including GST) for a 50-minute session. Concessions are sometimes available for people with low income or special circumstances.
For individuals, it's difficult to say how long treatment will take. For people with acute and unusual stressors, this can be as short as a single session or might take several. For people with stressors that are situational it may take between several sessions and some months. For people with longstanding issues or patterns of behaviour this might take several months to a few years, depending on the depth of treatment they want to undertake.
Couples and family groups are typically treated for 5-15 sessions.
Debriefing sessions are typically a single occasion, though sometimes one or two follow-up sessions can be helpful, depending on the circumstances.
Targeted, skill development groups, are typically 1-10 sessions. Therapy groups generally begin have a more pervasive effect in a person's life after a few months.
