About Me
I qualified as a psychotherapist in 2001 and have worked with a diverse range of populations. The majority of my career has been in general adult mental health, including three years in a specialist psychotherapy intensive day programme for people with complex psychological difficulties.
I work with individuals (including adolescents 13 years and older), couples, families and groups using a range of integrative strategies. I tend to use a more focused and structured approach initially, aimed at reducing distressing symptoms. For those who want to commit to greater change, I apply depth models to increase flexibility in personality and develop greater clarity, authenticity, purpose, values, meaning, and joy. I also provide supervision to other health professionals. I would describe my style as warm, sensitive, transparent and direct.
I moved to Nelson in 2017 with my family to better align with my values and engage more with the natural world.
